(Whoohoo! I painted it... for some reason my computer likes to scan things in different colours so that's why the scan lines are still visible.. I tried my best.) NEW SCAN NO LINES!

The painting was fun because I had promised myself not to worry over messups and just move on quickly... It had me thinking I should toss it away a few tiomes, but I promised myself... And I'm happy with how it turned out!
The only messup was when my cat walked over it but that's hardly visible now! LOL

I love this picture its so pretty and the colors are really .....umm.....rich....I think thats the word I'm looking for. Anyways I love the wings and how there's only an out line of them...very beautiful! I really love the colors you used!

:-) Meike de Nooy replies: "I had the idea for the wing when I was doing the sketch and it was so ennoying that I had to do them last 'cause I was really looking forward to the! And I'm glad you like the colours.. I'm strting to like them more and more... (they're growing on me) though I have to find out why sketches are always so heard to reproduce feeling wise..."

YEAAAH.....I know the problem! My cat is always very interested in my art works to. Sometimes I think she is my biggest fan.

I liked the sketch for this painting a lot. The painting however is beautiful to. The colors are very strong and the angel seems to spread a heavy and strange kind of light. And the whole painting has a 100% touch and feel of a acrylic painting. Very beautiful!

15 Meike de Nooy replies: "Haha.. I know... but I love my cats so I suppose they are the only ones who are actually entitled to bother me when I'm painting. The other problem is that since I went to hightschool I developed a liking to lay on my carpet while doing homework, and now I do my art there to. Yes, you can call me a fool, but the cats likle my floor too, actually... I like their floor. They own the room!"

This is simple and dramatic- very bold...I LOVE it! Really like the way you've used the bands of colour- this has a great feeling. Beautiful!

:-) Meike de Nooy replies: "My oil paiting.. which I can't wait to upload... Has the same idea.. Only it worked out better I think. Glad you chose this one to comment on though.. I'm really proud of it but the scan't really screwed it up! So Thanks! May the angels watch over you like this one watches over the world... (To meagerly imitate your style of nice words 2"

The atmsophere in this picture...it's great. There is so much peace in it.

:-) Meike de Nooy replies: "Uhuh... that's what I felt while I was paiting it NOT! no... but art makes me calm... that's a good thing! But I'm happy with the picture, just those bushes GRRRRR!"

Ooo, the simplified coloring makes a real strong effect. Very nice work.

:-) Meike de Nooy replies: "Thanks! That's what I went for! YAY!"

He, well, I'm sorry that I interpreted it differently than it was meant to be. But the emotion of a picture does not only depend on the mood and the intentions of the artist, but also on the mood and associations of the spectator. Anyway, the picture does evoke emotion, that is the most important in my opinion.

:-) Meike de Nooy replies: "Hey.. I never said you were wrong... I think to me it represents 'pondering' and that calmness is not far from it.. it's just that I tried a new way of painting and it had me on edge all the way through 12 but I was happy with how it turned out so no worries, it should readiate peace, it's just not what I felt while at it..."

I love the wings amd the body composition and I love how you work with acrylics, I am starting to learn acrylics I have one picture up made of acrylics but that is it.

:-) Meike de Nooy replies: "*feels a little ashamed* these are not acrylics, it's gouache. My English didn't know the difference when I drew this... I'll fix the description asap 12Good luck with your paining! It's fun!"
